Reflective Essay
Helping out for a good cause that is to help out to create/paint a mural or in other words transform the available space into a creative, fun and welcoming environment to provide students with a proper place for learning is according to me a noble initiative. Working in different groups whereby each and everyone of us has different capabilities and strengths would help us to achieve our only goal by providing different ways/solutions to overcome any coming obstacles.
Being part of Group 3 which consists of all my classmates was something of my comfort zone, however in the previous presentation session i got to meet students of other semesters; we are all working for the same noble cause and their knowledge and expertises will also be involved and used to successfully complete the given project on time and at low cost. Communication amongst us is vital because we should all be aware of the progress and plans of other groups.
Duration: 4 hours
All groups showed up and presented their individual findings and solutions. afterwards we all gathered to plan the execution of the action so that everything goes smoothly
Entry 2
The "Floor" group went out to look for the appropriate flooring material and agreed to buy Epoxy flooring considering its price and durability. I contributed into helping them make the colour choice.
My choice was Ivory, and my group mates(Mural Group) agreed with it.
why Ivory?
Ivory is a neutral colour and hence it would not disturb any other feature of the space such as the walls that will have the paintings, furnitures which will store colourful books and magazines. However there are cons of using Ivory in an environment where toddlers are present because it will be stained easily and will perhaps fade and change colour.
Mural
The most preferred design voted is the Galaxy theme.
Proposed execution method 1
-Draw whole Mural to scale with the design on
-Draw out stencils of planets and stars to be drawn,
-Create the colour palette,
-pre-mix the paints if needed for the background,
- Trace out drawings from stencils made,
-Enhance the drawings if needed,
-Paint.

Meeting to finalise trips and cost of paint/furniture
During this meeting, we were joined by two seniors who helped and updated us about the sponsor for the paint needed.
Updates for this meeting
1) The theme has been changed back to the Zoo theme because it then only syncs with the exterior theme.
2) We shall now paint Murals B & D.
3) Only the bottom part of the wall will have animal characters painted on.
4) The dividing timber and window frames will be painted grey both interior and exterior.
5) The ceiling colour remains black.
Miss Norji informed us that there will be two trips to Serendah, first one for clean up and second trip for the project execution. Miss Norji carefully considered the dates and picked it according to the convenience of students.

ON SITE
01/06/2019
It has been a truly enlightening experience about the current living situations of rural areas in Malaysia. Being there on site and witnessing the lack of organisation, cleanliness and facilities of the building made me ponder upon things i took for granted back when i was growing up. i haven't really been engaged in community service my whole life as much as want to, and CSI made it possible for me to participate and help the locals.
On site, the locals were very welcoming and helpful, the young ones were unable to speak English but were trying hard to facilitate tasks for us. My team mates and i bonded while working; hence i made new friends.
CSI enabled me to enhance multiple of my skills such as planning, leadership and also helped me to get over my phobia of lizards.

BUYING BOOK STOPPERS
I accompanied a group member(Joycelyn) of Books' group to find and buy appropriate book stoppers. We firstly visited Mr. DIY at IOI Puchong mall to find book stoppers being bunny shaped considering it would be appropriate for kids but then they were out of stock and also the final price of 13 pairs exceeded the budget. We then headed to popular and then daiso to find cheaper but book stoppers of almost same quality, we ended up buying book stoppers from popular, they were not as attractive as the ones we previously checked but they did the job and were of great quality.
